Audience favourite Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist returns to UKZN’s Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre in Durban to enthral local fans with his quick-witted humour and astonishing tricks of the mind. He takes The Sneddon stage for a short season running from Tuesday 8 September to Sunday 20 September 2015. Thereafter he will appear at the Hexagon Theatre in Pietermaritzburg from 30 September until 3 October.
For the past 21 years Andre has held audiences spellbound with his unique brand of dry wit combined with his unwavering sense of humour and an uncanny ability to get members of the public to engage in weird, whacky and wonderfully funny activities on stage.
Andre’s shows are traditionally crowd-pullers, as the man is renowned for presenting unforgettable, highly-interactive performances that leave his audiences flitting between fits of laughter and gasping in amazement as ordinary volunteers drop deep into hypnotic trances and lose all inhibitions with just a click of his fingers.
His shows are geared for the whole family, and even those who have previously experienced the magic of his shows get to enjoy something new every time. It is no surprise then that his stage appearances are eagerly anticipated by his loyal fans throughout South Africa.
Andre, who has presented his explosively funny shows at more than 4 500 live performances, and hypnotized well over 30000 people, propels the age-old art form of hypnosis into the 21st century with supersonic hypnotic speed and outrageously funny sketches.
Trained by the legendary Max Collie and having set attendance records at nearly all theatres in
South Africa, Andre is yet to show signs of slowing down. Now officially 100 kg’s lighter (due
to a diet that finally worked), this star entertainer has found a new "spring in his step" and describes the new him as being young, thin and funny.
Andre’s performance times at The Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre are 19h30 (Tuesdays to Saturdays) and 15h00 (Sundays). Tickets cost R80 per person (Tuesday to Thursday), R90 (Friday to Sunday) and R70 for block bookings.
Performance times at the Hexagon Theatre are 6pm on 30 September (tickets R60), 7pm on 1 October (tickets R70), and at 7pm on 2 and 3 October (tickets R80).
Tickets through Computicket are available at Shoprite Checkers. For phone bookings, call 0861 915 8000 or book online at www.computicket.com. Tickets can also be bought at the door before the shows start.
