The Playhouse Company’s critically acclaimed production of Kente’s How Long? runs in the Opera Theatre until 27 May
Presented by The Playhouse Company, Gibson Kente’s renowned township musical, How Long? runs in the Playhouse Opera until 27 May. Directed by Duma Ndlovu with choreography by Somizi Mhlongo the landmark production features a powerhouse cast headed by Thembi Mtshali, Phindile Gwala, Khaya Dladla and Mondli Makhoba . Set in Soweto the turbulent days of the early 1970s, the powerful work is(re)introducing a whole new generation of young South African theatre goers to their historical roots.
With backing by a live band and the KZN Philharmonic orchestra under the musical direction of Phelelani Mnomiya, the supercharged cast is set to bring audiences to their feet with its high-energy renderings of the show’s wealth of hit numbers!
