An exciting development is coming their way for residents in Umhlanga and La Lucia with the launch of a new series of monthly classical music concerts. Leading South African pianist and Steinway Artist Christopher Duigan's Music Revival performances are already established as month-end calendar favourites from Ballito to the KZN Midlands. These concerts, featuring Duigan at the piano along with a host of local and international guest artists, have won much public acclaim.
Music Revival will now present a monthly concert of the world's great classical repertoire at Crawford College, La Lucia. The content offers a 'light to medium’ classical music experience with the artists introducing the music they are about to play, offering personal insight as well as anecdotal and historical background to the music. The opening concert will take place at at Crawford College, 79 Armstrong Avenue on Monday 25 March starting 7:00 pm. There is safe and secure parking.
For this concert Duigan plays a solo piano programme of classical piano masterpieces titled ‘Twenty Popular Piano Solos’. This includes such iconic items as JS Bach’s 'Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring', Frederic Chopin's Polonaise in A, Enrique Granados' ‘Andaluza', and Ludwig van Beethoven’s immortal 'Moonlight Sonata. Future concerts feature star cellist Aristide du Plessis (29 April), the music of Chopin (22 May), clarinettist Junnan Sun and other star musicians.
